Aside from some friends (who are like family) that we hung out with back home, and now here... i have enjoyed just doing life here on my own.

However, every once in awhile i wish that i could joke around with someone about something inherently cultural [mine] and have them get it. Sometimes i tire of being the odd 'man' out.

It worked out pretty well for the Brazilian group back home, so i figure we can at least give it a try & see how it goes. :)Amaris in Wonderlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10709934116485026384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1592697585915916071.post-17198776365773149262012-03-03T16:04:10.832-06:002012-03-03T16:04:10.832-06:00Have fun at your first get-together!
As much as I...Have fun at your first get-together!

As much as I love living outside the 'expat bubble', it's also really nice to connect with other people who are in similar circumstances to us. Good luck.

Have you thought about starting a Facebook group? There is one for the expats in the larger town not far from here and it's a really great way to connect and plan with the others.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
